The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts was set up as a way of realizing Tupac’s ultimate dream – to provide a safe haven for youth from all backgrounds to freely express themselves through the arts, while also giving something back to the community. Students do not have to audition to be apart of any of our programs.
The late rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur says, "my son was always striving to reach out to as many people as he could, and he changed the world in doing so. I give thanks every day knowing Tupac’s words and music continue to have an incredible effect on people worldwide.” From our students in S. Africa, Japan, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Atlanta and to the Vatican, Tupac’s spirit resonates and continues to inspire, encourage, and provide peace to a new generation of young people.
This year we received enormous support from people who were affected by Tupac’s words and music. Among the many supporters, was Actor/Comedian Mike Epps, who donated his time to our students in June and was faithful to his commitment to support our mission. You too, can make a positive impact in the lives of youth. Contribute to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation today!
